MAHLE's AD299000P Filter-drier and accumulator is designed for use in HVAC applications, particularly in AC accumulators and receiver driers. This component plays a dual role: filtering out contaminants from the refrigerant to prevent damage and storing excess refrigerant during operation, thus ensuring the system runs smoothly. AC accumulators and receiver driers are critical components in vehicle air conditioning systems, positioned in the liquid or suction line respectively. Accumulators, used with TXV expansion devices, store excess refrigerant and prevent liquid slugging into the compressor. Receiver driers, paired with orifice tube systems, filter contaminants, remove moisture, and store refrigerant. Both utilize desiccant material to ensure system dryness and contain sight glasses for refrigerant condition inspection. Internal strainers and molecular sieves are standard features, maintaining system efficiency and compressor longevity.
